Gerberas and the Other Rebecca

I bought this plant on whim during a Whole Foods lunch outing and it has been my new responsibility for over a month.  Who knew it would be so fun to try and keep a plant alive!  I even have a foster dad that takes care of it when I am out of town!

My little Gerbera is kicking his Orchid's butt!

I have been eying this Rebecca Minkoff bag ever since I went to Des Moines a few months ago.  I couldn't justify the price for such a small bag.  HOWEVER, 3 months later when I STILL wanted it I decided it was probably meant to be ... so I bought it.  And I do not regret it.  It is the perfect size and goes with everything.

The one I got doesn't have the aztec design and was half the price but can't be found anymore.  But, you can get this one here.

Lamps and Blueberry Pankcakes

So I decided it was time to upgrade all of my lamps this weekend.  I started out at Pottery Barn and then went to Crate and Barrel.   I didn't love anything.  I then made a trip to Target for odds and ends and guess what I found!?  The most adorable lamps and lamp shades ever.  AND they were all on sale!

So after a long night of karaoke I woke up in the mood for blueberry pancakes. Here is the recipe.  They are a real crowd pleaser!!

Ingredients:
  •  3/4 cup skim milk
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • cooking spray
Directions:
  1. Combine milk with vinegar in a medium bowl and set aside for 5 minutes to "sour".
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Whisk egg, vanilla and butter into "soured" milk. Pour the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and whisk until lumps are gone.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and coat with cooking spray. Pour 1/4 cupfuls of batter onto the skillet, and cook until bubbles appear on the surface. Flip with a spatula, and cook until browned on the other side.
  4. ENJOY!!

Colorful Jeans and Birchbox

So I may have gone a little overboard with the colorful jeans lately (pic below) but I really can't get enough of them.  They are so great for the color blocking look and wearing pants that bright are a guarantee to brighten your mood and grab some attention at the same time!  Oh and beware, the Target ones run REALLY small.  I am normally a 26 and I had to get a 7!  A bit of a ding on the ego but it was worth it.

My second thing is Birchbox.  It is basically a monthly sample delivery.  But they deliver some of the coolest products and it's only 10/month.  Its similar to a magazine subscription but with products that you can actually use.  Every month I look forward to getting that little pink box. So what are you waiting for?  Go subscribe now @ birchbox.com!

Skinny Rings and Customized iPhone Cases

Skinny rings are so girly and delicate and I am just loving them.  I am pretty simple when it come to accessorizing and tend to keep it classic.  I just got this one in the mail today and I am loving it!

Here are a few more to check out.

Buy it here - Gabriella Artigas

Buy it here - Tigertree

So up until now I have been satisfied with Kate Spade iPhone cases.  That was until I stumbled upon an adorable customized case on Pinterest (below).  It was a bit pricey at around $55 so I was hesitant.

You can find that one here

That was until a fellow Pinterest friend sent me a link to a much cheaper version of the same thing for half the price.  Thanks Jane!
